What we collect and why

Site traffic. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and doesn't track you across sites. It shows us totals only: visits, pages viewed, referring sites, device type and country.
Tool clicks. When you click a tool's button, our server records which tool, the page you clicked from and the date. That record has no identifier, IP address or device information. We use it to learn which tools readers find useful and to report totals to partners.
Survey. The starter-plan survey is anonymous. It does not ask for or store your email, name or IP address. We store only your answers, the date and your country (from the network, not your exact location), and we look at them only in aggregate to improve the site. Your plan is built on your own screen. If the optional free-text answer contains an email address or phone number, our server removes it before saving.
Advertiser inquiries and payments. If you contact us about a placement, we keep what you send so we can reply. Sponsors pay through Stripe, which handles card details under its own privacy policy. We never see full card numbers. We keep billing records for tax purposes.
Emails you send us. We keep them so we can reply.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are legitimate interests (aggregate analytics, anonymous survey answers, click counts and security), contract (sponsor placements) and legal obligation (tax records).

Who we share it with

We share data only with service providers acting for us: Cloudflare (hosting, analytics and storage) and Stripe (payments). We may also disclose data if the law requires it.

We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, as California law uses those terms. We run no advertising pixels. When you follow a link to a vendor's site, that site's own privacy policy applies.

Cookies, Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We set no cookies and use no fingerprinting or cross-site tracking. We treat Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out. Since we don't sell or share data, there's nothing more to switch off. Content blockers can stop the analytics script entirely.

How long we keep it

Analytics and click totals: kept as aggregate statistics. Individual click records are deleted after about 13 months.
Anonymous survey answers: kept as long as they help us improve the site. They contain no email or other contact details.
Inquiries: as long as needed to reply and keep a business record.
Payment records: as long as tax law requires (typically 7 years).

International transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your data, object to or restrict our processing, and withdraw any consent you gave. You can also complain to your data protection authority, such as the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, or the ICO in the UK. Email [email protected] and we'll reply within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.

Children

This site is for working professionals. It is not aimed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Security

We use encrypted connections and limit who can access the data we hold.

Changes

We'll post updates here and change the effective date above.
