Inman looked at a new Apartments.com report on its AI search tool. Renters ask about the all-in monthly cost (utilities, parking, deposits), move-in costs and whether they'll qualify, and they compare tradeoffs inside one chat. Apartments.com advises operators to list total monthly price, move-in cost, estimated utilities and eligibility requirements upfront, in plain language.
Add total monthly cost, move-in cost, estimated utilities and which features cost extra to your rental listings. State screening criteria neutrally and apply them the same way to everyone. Renters may share family or income details with a chatbot, but those details must never shape who you show or rent to.
