The agents getting the most from AI now let it work inside their CRM and files, an Inman survey finds

In Inman's September Intel Index survey, 30% of the agents and brokerage leaders who report "significant" productivity gains from AI said they mainly use agentic or connected tools that act inside their files or software, up from 9% in April. Among that group, 45% now use AI to manage leads or tasks in a client database, 55% to summarize contracts or business documents and 71% to analyze market data. The survey had 460 responses from Inman's own readers, so it shows a trend among engaged users, not the whole industry.

Why it matters for agents

If your CRM now connects to ChatGPT or Claude (BoldTrail and Lofty both do), start with a low-risk job like "plan my day" or "which leads haven't I touched in a month" before letting it send anything. Check any contract summary against the document itself, and take legal questions to your broker or a lawyer.
